Tuition: $335.00

Just Imagine ...

  • your child performing in a high-quality production of a classic children's tale.
  • a production being staged with professionally designed costumes and scenery.
  • a production enlivening the Oyster River High School theatre.
  • all this taking place in only one week!

This week-long camp is a unique learning opportunity in which children will discover talents and strengths through participation in a live theatre experience.

On Monday campers will audition (ALL CAMPERS ARE CAST) and be cast. The rehearsal process starts soon after the auditions are finished. In just five days of rehearsal all the songs, lines, dances and staging are learned. In addition to the more challenging roles, middle and high students can participate as assistant directors. Assistant directors learn how to operate equipment and assist with building the set. The camp includes two public performances of the final production on Saturday in the Oyster River High School Theatre as well as three enrichment workshops given during the week.

In addition, three enrichment workshops will be conducted in a wide variety of theatrical topics, such as mime, Shakespeare, puppets, improvisation along with many others. Two public performances culminate the week of rehearsals when children take the stage in a full musical production with professionally designed scenery, costumes, lighting and make-up.

Each camper will receive four (4) tickets and additional tickets will be available for $5.00 each.

Instructors: CSA's Founders Lorrie and Rob Gray have been active in theatre for more than 20 years. Rob's first on-stage production credit was that of "Fancourt Babberly in "Charlie's Aunt", in 1983, at Keene State College. Lorrie started even sooner in several high school productions. She went to Western Illinois University where she earned a Bachelors Degree in recreation and parks administration with a minor in music.
